Function is the communally based, shape shifting brainchild of Australian native & general globe-trotting nomad Matt Nicholson.
The Secret Miracle Fountain is a lush & transcendental rock album recorded & produced in over ten countries - from Sinai, Egypt to Brooklyn, New York; Kyoto, Japan to Venice, Italy - over a 3 ½ year period with the participation of close to 3 dozen friends & musicians.
The Secret Miracle Fountain marks the band's first stateside album after a couple lathe cut records, cassettes & smallish cd releases. Featured artists include Chris Smith (Fat Cat, Emperor Jones), Stuart Dempster (New Albion), and Lakshmi Shankar & Subash Chandran, Indian music masters of voice and percussion.
